Handyman Services Company was founded by Bill Peery in April of 1989. As an Arlington Heights homeowner, Bill recognized that many of his neighbors needed to have small home repairs done periodically, but couldn't always find someone to do them. It seemed that most companies focused on larger, more complex remodeling projects and only handled smaller jobs when they had time.

Bill has always had a knack for home repairs. His mother used to tell the story of her then 4 year old son, who found his dad's screwdriver and proceeded to remove a door knob. Upon presenting his "trophy" to his mother, she said "Fine...now you go and put that knob back on where you found it". Young Bill did just that, and then returned the screwdriver to his dad's toolbox. Later that evening, Bill's dad tightened up the door knob slightly, but was still pretty impressed.

As a long time resident of Arlington Heights, Bill is pleased to have served many of his customers for the entire 27 year span of the company. He now has a number of "second generation" customers and one "third generation" customer. That is quite a feat. Bill and his wife Pat raised their two girls in Arlington Heights and both of them are now married and have their own families.

Bill is now winding his business down while still being able to occasionally help with light tasks during the warmer seasons. Enjoying time with his grandchildren and a little more time fishing are at the top of the list.
